More about the course

The BTEC course features a wide variety of units to choose from to ensure learners are prepared and exposed to a wide variety of practical and theory-based work.

The BTEC course will prepare learners for both employment within the sector, apprenticeships within the sector and higher education, including the second year of the program.

You will learn a variety of key subject areas in health and social care such as equality, diversity and rights, safeguarding, communication, psychological perspectives, human growth and development and infection prevention.

Work experience opportunities

Weekly work experience sessions will ensure you are developing your employability skills, along with 100 work placement hours in the sector.

English and Maths

English and maths skills are pivotal within the health and social care sector providing opportunities for further development and progression. You will complete blood pressure testing, measurements, report writing within your practical and classroom sessions.

Where can I progress?

Upon successful completion of this course, you can choose to stay on and complete the extended diploma or go straight into employment.
