More about the course

This course is ideal for people who want to improve their literacy skills.

A Functional Skill in English includes improving speaking and listening skills, reading and writing.

You will identify the main points and ideas in a variety of texts, written for a variety of purposes. You will construct extended pieces of writing in a variety of forms, employing spelling, grammar and punctuation accurately.

You will make relevant and extended contributions in discussions, as well as presenting information clearly.

There are no formal entry requirements, but an initial assessment will be carried out to assess the level you are currently working at.
