Apprenticeships

The Benefits of an Apprenticeship

The Benefits of an Apprenticeship

1. Earn as You Learn - You'll be paid at least the National Minimum Wage of £6.40 per hour in the first year of your apprenticeship. If you're aged 19 years or over in the second year, you'll be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for your age group.

2. Work Experience - You’ll gain hands-on experience, learning in a real working environment. Work experience can help boost your CV and help you understand how to apply yourself in the work-place.

3. Gain a Qualification - Combine work experience with studying and you will benefit from an industry-relevant qualification and experience on the job.

4. Avoid Student Debt - You can study an apprenticeship up to Level 6, without the costs associated with going to university.

5. Kickstart Your Career - Work hard and show commitment, to both your studies and work experience, and you will be giving your career the best start. There's the possibility that you may be offered a permanent role on completion of your apprenticeship, having already spent time with this employer, and if not, you'll have an attractive CV for future employers. The Department for Education cites that 7 in 10 apprenticeships are offered permanent jobs with their employers.
