Carlisle College had a fun-filled weekend celebrating 70 years of the College.

We started off the celebrations with a grand opening of our Construction Academy. John Stevenson MP, managing director of Persimmon Homes Anthony Mansfield and Councillor Elaine Lynch joined up to open the new academy. We also had a very kind donation from Persimmon Homes, who generously provided us with 12,000 bricks for the occasion. Our new Construction Academy will help to boost the local construction industry for years to come and provide important skills to all of our future students.

The 70th birthday celebrations then continued with a staff party. All Carlisle College staff were able to sit down all together and enjoy an evening looking back on the 70 years of the college. They even got the chance to celebrate each other and their achievements with some well deserved staff awards.

The celebrations did not end there, as we also hosted a community day that was fun for the whole family, with bouncy castles, pasta necklaces, face painting, ice cream and cakes... we had it all!

The celebrations were incredible, and none of it would have been possible without our Level 3 Business students and tutors. The students managed and ran all of the events over the course of the two days and did an incredible job!

Well done to you all and thank you for helping us celebrate in style!
