Beauty Courses

With state-of-the-art facilities, industry professionals and dedicated enthusiastic and innovative staff, Carlisle College offers you the opportunity to enter the exciting world of Beauty and Complementary Therapies. 

You will gain hands on practical experience in our salon training environments, to enable you to hone your practical skills, become familiar with the equipment you will use in a salon, and gain customer service skills. You will learn and perfect different beauty therapy treatments, from nails, brows and lashes, to facials, skincare and massage. There are progression opportunities from Level 1 to Level 3 beauty therapy courses, where you can learn more advanced techniques and treatments such as Facial Electro Therapy along with further knowledge in running a business.  

Alongside practical experience our courses include theory elements where you will learn to understand areas such as application and technique, skin care, health and safety, anatomy and physiology.

As well as classroom-based study where you will benefit from learning in specialist facilities, our courses also fully embrace an extensive Work Experience programme, including events and opportunities to put learning into practice.

You will also have the chance to assist in managing and running the College’s own commercial salon, Essence, encouraging you to deal with clients confidently, tactfully, and sympathetically. 

Our tutors all have extensive industry experience, so can not only teach you and guide you through the course but also help to prepare you for working life in the beauty industry. Students also benefit from expert guest speakers, who can share industry knowledge and experience, along with product information.
